For a month, from 8th of May to 8th of June 2025 (travel days included), ESC volunteers took part in a project of common interest and public utility. They cleaned the beaches and took initiative to raise public awareness about protecting the environment. This had a positive impact on the local community through the active engagement of the youngsters.
The volunteers broadened their horizons and took an active role with their European and local peers. They developed competences regarding environmental preservation and intercultural mediation. Besides, they raised their own awareness about different eco-friendly lifestyles and applied the principle “Think globally, act locally.”
The volunteers also took part in activities to develop public spaces (cleaning, mural painting and creation of furniture from recycled material) with the aim of making these spaces attractive and useful for the community.
