Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a transformative technology that is reshaping industries and societies worldwide. From improving business operations to revolutionizing healthcare and transportation, AI has the potential to significantly impact education. This training course aims to equip youth workers and educators with the knowledge and skills to harness the opportunities presented by AI while addressing its challenges.

Participants will delve into the evolution of AI, from its early beginnings to the development of sophisticated generative AI models like ChatGPT, deepai , openai etc. They will explore how AI is already impacting various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, finance, media, customer service, and transportation. Through case studies and discussions, participants will gain insights into the potential applications of AI in education and its broader societal implications.

AI presents numerous opportunities in education, from personalized learning experiences to streamlining administrative tasks. However, it also raises concerns about data privacy, job disruption, and ethical considerations. Participants will examine these opportunities and challenges, exploring strategies to leverage AI effectively while mitigating its negative effects on educators, students, and educational institutions.

The training course will provide hands-on experience with AI tools and technologies relevant to education, including machine learning, natural language processing, and facial recognition. Participants will learn how these technologies can digitize textbooks, detect plagiarism, gauge student emotions, and tailor learning experiences to individual needs.

Ethical considerations are essential in the adoption of AI in education. Participants will discuss the ethical implications of AI, including data privacy issues, job displacement, and biases in AI algorithms. They will explore strategies for promoting ethical AI practices in educational settings and fostering responsible AI usage among educators and students.

Objectives

Objective 1: To empower youth workers, trainers and educators to learn the core concepts of AI, how these technologies are applied in educational contexts and to identify examples of AI applications in education in order to gain a solid understanding of AI fundamentals which can be tailored to the needs of educators and youth workers.

Objective 2: To enable participants toexplore the opportunities and challenges of AI and to gain practical insights into the complexities of integrating AI into non formal educational practices and youth work. Furthermore to analyze the potential benefits of AI in education, such as personalized learning and administrative efficiency, as well as the challenges, including data privacy concerns and job displacement.

Objective 3: To enable a group of youth workers and educators from different European and non-European Countries to acquire practical skills in using widely accessible AI technologies in their professional practice effectively.

Objective 4: To develop a deeper understanding of ethical responsibilities for educators and youth workers in the age of AI, as well to identify and explore ethical considerations in AI adoption, with opportunities for participants to reflect on their own values and beliefs and how they intersect with AI ethics in education.

Objective 5: To develop a technical and educational resource tool for youth workers, emphasizing the practical applications of AI in educational settings and providing guidance on integrating AI tools and technologies into efficient learning content creation and youth work practices.
