Together we play, together we shape the clay

The young people are in direct contact with the nature, they explore clay’s characteristics, they try different techniques of making ceramics. The touch of the soft and supple mass of the clay, relaxes the mind, encourage the free expression and creativity. It empowers the fantasy, support concentration, gives satisfaction and has a psycho-therapeutic impact. Meanwhile the young people develop their entrepreneurship skills, learning how to promote the ceramics in the market. In this frame, we organized a nine days youth exchange in Lefkas, Greece. 35 young people were involved coming from Spain, Italy, France, Estonia, Poland and Greece. During the exchange the youngster enriched their knowledge about ceramic history and the cultural heritage of each participant country. Working with clay was an unique experience for them by learning the followings: – how to work with clay & to use this practice to promote active citizenship and youth inclusion in the society.

  • the beneficiaries developed their creativity and their talents through team work. They developed their entrepreneurship skills in term of Ceramic by offering workshops to the public.
  • They developed personal skills like autonomy, speaking, critical thinking, taking responsibility and team spirit.
