Training Course – Augmented Educator

Training course „AI in Service of Human Connection- Developing the “Augmented Educator” in Youth Work.

Lefkas, Greece 22- 28 September 7 working days+2travel days (Arrival 21st September – Departure 29th September)

We are living in an era of rapid digital transformation, where artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly shaping the way we learn, communicate, and work. In the field of education, AI offers unprecedented opportunities, from personalized learning pathways to automated content generation and administrative efficiency.

However, within youth work and non-formal education, learning is not only about content delivery. It is deeply rooted in human connection, trust, emotional engagement, and shared experience. The essence of working with young people lies in presence, dialogue, group dynamics, and the creation of safe and inclusive spaces where learning happens through interaction and reflection.

As AI tools become more accessible, there is a growing tension:

How can educators benefit from technological advancements without losing the human dimension of learning?

At the same time, youth workers and educators are often overwhelmed by time-consuming tasks such as planning sessions, designing materials, and managing administrative responsibilities. These demands reduce the time and energy they can dedicate to meaningful engagement with young people.

This training responds to this dual challenge by introducing the concept of the Augmented Educator, a professional who uses AI as a supportive tool to enhance, rather than replace, human interaction. In this model, AI helps reduce operational workload and supports creativity, allowing educators to be more present, responsive, and intentional in their work with young people.

The training is built on the belief that AI should serve human connection, not substitute it. Integrating AI into the planning and design phases of educational work, youth workers can create richer, more engaging, and more inclusive offline learning experiences.

Overall Aim of the Training

The overall aim of this training is to empower youth workers, educators, and trainers to design, implement, and evaluate high-quality offline educational activities for young people by effectively and responsibly integrating AI tools into their pedagogical practice, thereby developing their role as “Augmented Educators.”
